Pun begitu, tahukah anda bahayanya tidur jika membuka lampu?<\/p>\n<p>Fakta membuktikan tidur membuka lampu punca obesiti. Sejauhmanakah kebenaran fakta ini? Statistik terbaru yang diperoleh menerusi Kajian Kesihatan dan Morbiditi Kebangsaan (NHMS) pada tahun 2015 menyatakan bahawa Malaysia telah \u2018diiktiraf\u2019 sebagai negara obes. Ia turut menjadikan Malaysia sebagai salah sebuah negara yang mempunyai rakyat paling ramai obesiti di Asia.<\/p>\n<p>Wow, ini merupakan satu rekod yang menakutkan! Menyokong lagi fakta berkenaan, kajian telah dilakukan kepada haiwan mendapati kesan cahaya lampu kepada melatonin regulasi \u2018body clock\u201d yang mengawal masa tidur sedar manusia.<\/p>\n<p>Kajian juga mendapati berat badan akan meningkat kepada 5kg atau lebih sekaligus meningkatkan risiko BMI sebanyak 10 peratus. Dalam erti kata lain, individu yang mengamalkan cara sebegini akan menjadi gemuk tanpa sengaja.<\/p>\n<p>Walaupun faktor pendedahan kepada cahaya lampu boleh menyebabkan peningkatan berat badan namun, pengambilan makanan berkalori tinggi dan gaya hidup tidak aktif tetap menjadi punca utama obesiti.<\/p>\n<p>Mari kita lihat, kenapa kita disarankan tidur dalam keadaan gelap?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Meningkatkan pengeluaran hormon melatonin<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Professor Russle Reiter dari Texas University, menyatakan bahawa keadaan lampu terbuka walaupun hanya satu minit, menyebabkan pengurangan penghasilan hormon melatonin. Hormon melatonin adalah unsur yang dihasilkan oleh kelenjar pineal di dalam otak dan pembentukannya dipengaruhi oleh suasana gelap. Tahap pengeluaran yang paling tinggi adalah diantara pukul 2 hingga 4 pagi dan yang paling rendah adalah pada waktu petang.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Memperbaiki sel rosak<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tahukah anda, aktiviti yang anda lakukan pada waktu siang akan menyebabkan sel-sel dalam badan anda akan rosak? Oleh itu, ia perlu diganti dan dibaiki pada waktu malam. Berdasarkan kajian, tubuh memerlukan suasana yang gelap untuk memperbaiki sel yang rosak dan semestinya lampu perlu ditutup atau dipadamkan.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Mengurangkan risiko depresi<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Jika anda tidur dalam keadaan gelap, secara langsung anda dapat menyeimbangkan kesihatan mental dan emosi. Kekurangan penghasilan hormon melatonin juga dikaitkan dengan masalah tidur dan boleh menyebabkan masalah depresi.<\/p>\n<p>Walaupun tidur dalam keadaan lampu terbuka merupakan punca kepada obesiti namun, sperti kita sedia maklum, terdapat pelbagai lagi punca yang menyumbang ke arah ini antaranya adalah seperti pengambilan makanan secara tidak terkawal, kurang bergerak, tidak bersenam atau tidak melakukan sebarang aktiviti fizikal.
